Driver Alert System

Hello Everyone,
I'm in the process of pricing up A Scirocco R at the dealers and when going through the options list I've seen the driver alert system..
Has anyone fitted this option? For the sake of the £70ish it is; I'm thinking why not, it'll be a good little addition and would help the used car re-sale.
My only question is, how good is it and can it be turned off? I've had the far from helpful description from the dealers and I've looked on the VW website at how it works. The website states it works by "noting any erratic steering wheel movements and lane deviations".. What If I'm going for a spirited drive? That'll include erratic moments and lane deviations, so will it throw a wobbly and start warning me? Even though I think it's a nice safety feature and 'gimicky' (in a good way) i'm just concerned it could turn out to be a bit inaccurate and annoying at times and a feature to disable it would be nice for the times I don't need it..
Any input or thought would be welcome.
