Should I get my new car detailed?

Hi all,

I'm now the proud owner my brand new Scirocco 2.0 TSI DSG in Pearl black and the car is way above my expectations, drives like a dream, the cars perfect for me!
However, even though I asked the dealer *NOT* to clean my car as I had read up about the nightmares the tools at the dealership can do to your car they went ahead and did it anyway .

So it was delivered in imo a piss poor state, with sticky stuff on the bonnet, wipers, door handles inside and out and on the windscreen and light swirls covering the entire car which become quite apparent on a sunny day and is really ticking me off.

So I'm looking at getting it detailed, a company called 'allthatgleams' is a few miles from mine and offers a 'new car protection detail' for £200, the question is, is it worth it? How long will this protection last? Should I pay extra to get it clayed or get nanolex applied? Pretty new to all this so any help would be grrrreat!

:grumpy:

IMO for £200 you can get a lot of clearing products. Do you normally take the time to clean the car properly? If so I would recommend you try a product to get rid of the swirls yourself?

For £200 you can buy yourself a rotary polisher or a DA polisher and you can use it again the future - the swirls will come back!

Cheers
