Embarrassing Breakdown

Saturday mid-morning arrived at York Race Course – locked the car as we all do !
A few hours later I returned to the car – pressed the key fob to open – and nothing happened.
Car still locked and alarm light flashing inside car.
The red light showed on the fob , so I knew there was life in the fob battery.
Kept trying but to no avail. Tried opening the boot by pressing the fob – nothing.
Then decided to open car with the actual key – which I thought (the entry) was on the passenger side door – NO !
No physical key entry to the boot !
Stuck, so called the AA – as the heavens opened and the rain just fell out of the sky.
Mr AA arrived within (a very grateful) twenty minutes. Analysed the problem and scratched his head. He also looked for any physical entry to the car.
After walking around the car for several minutes – inspiration arrived – walked to the drivers door and pulled the handle fully out – then pushed the very left hand plastic cover to the left – lo and behold A KEY ENTRY !
Used the key – opened the door and we were in – engine started – all was well.
So, for those of you who did not know how to gain entry with the key (and do not wish to be embarrassed) that is how entry is achieved.
He commented that the system was probably interrupted by the transmissions of the York Race Course radio transmitters. ‘Not an uncommon event’ – unquote.
Not quite sure if it was an accurate assessment – but it sounded good – and worked !
Bet you all knew how to do it.
