Bulb Error

Good evening guys, I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather.

6 months ago i fitted LEDs to sidelights and number plate. All worked well and looked awesome on my candy.

This morning the bulb error came up on the instrument cluster, however all of the bulbs inside and out appear to be working fine.

Can anyone shed any light on this? (pardon the pun :P)

Thanks

The Central Electrics controller is sensitive to LED's even if they are sold as CANBUS compatible.

Its not unusual for the warning while the LEDs continue to work what appears normally.

These have given trouble in the past......

Although once the one that failed was replaced on my Scirocco, they have been fine.

Thanks for the reply C.

I've just been out now its turned dark to check the lights.

I noticed that the number plate lights i replaced with these:

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

stay on for 5 seconds and then go off. They both go off together. I can only assume it is this which is flagging up the error.

Do you have any suggestions as to how I can solve this?

I could replace them with the originals, however it doesn't look as cool.

Three options.....

Replace the one thats faulty with a replacement (As I did, Ebay supplier replaced by return of post). Find out which is causing it to force the lights off by fitting one only at a time, with an old bulb in the other position.

Replace with LEDs with units from another supplier.

Knock off the bulb check using VCDS. But you will loose any other failed lamp warning.

I get an intermittent rear right brake bulb failure warning when the light is working fine. It usually happens after rain and after I've opened the hatch and showered the light clusters with the the water that accumulates somewhere in the hatch. Never seems to affect the left hand light though, go figure.

Thanks for the response guys.

Its come up on my MFD that the number plate lights are not working which is a nice feature lol.

I've contacted the vendor stating that the sidelight bulbs are working fine, it's just the numberplate ones which have started playing up after 5 months.

He has offered me a refund (although i have asked for a replacement pair)

Can anyone post me a link of where i can get error free LEDs, preferably from a vendor someone has bought from.

Thanks guys!

PS I Don't have an Ebay account.
