strange vibrations

I've noticed that my car seems to vibrate really heavily sometimes when I am stationary, its very odd as when I'll go for drive after a while it'll seem to be okay.
If I listen closely now as I'm parked up I car hear like as if something has chipped off and in a circulating around under the bonnet. It's not loud but very faint.
Anyone with any ideas.
