Ok, looking for some advice. I am new to the VW brand and was wondering what you knowledgable people would recommend. Would it be 95 ron or 98 ron. And what are the plus and minus points.
I used 95 ron in my E46 M3 and had no problems.

I think one of tha major magazines carried out a test on the different petrols and basically found no performance improvements they did say that it may make a very minor difference to maintaning the car but you would not see the cost recovery

Hi Iroc , the TFSi (now Tsi) engines are designed to run on 98+ ron. They actually give better mpg aswell as performance. Although they will run on 95 it is less efficient so penny for penny stick with the Super . The article in the Mail was really about differences in performance between brands and not engine specific.
I've always run my MK5 Gti on Vpower (except when not available) and intend to do the same with my new ROC.
There is a lot of info out there in the Gti forums - have a look

Interesting - I've always used Optimax / VPower in my A4 which has the same engine as the roc, but there is a subtle difference in the spec here:
My Audi states 95 - 98 RON (For best results on consumption/performance, etc. use 98 RON)
The Scirocco tech guide states only Minimum 95 RON is needed - some changes to the ECU perhaps or some other minor change ?

I'm sure you can run it on 95 without problems,ECUs are adaptivre nowadays and will compensate presumably.I always run my cars on 98 though.
I've seen a different article a while ago that showed faily significant power differences between fuels, particularly on turbo cars.
