Badged as TS, not TSi

This may be a daft question but here goes. I bought a Scirocco in Oct 09 and am very pleased with it. However, despite quite a bit of research I am still confused as to exactly what it is i've bought. It is badged as a 2.0 TS (note no 'i') and no the badge isn't bust, but the engine is marked 'TSi'. Also it doesn't have any of the fancy adjustable suspension buttons. According to the V50 it is a 2.0 GT. Another thing is that compared to my friends 2.0 TSi it seems to be a bit quicker, any suggestions folks?

Badge letters are separate like this.....

If not, then the badge is from somewhere else.

The alternative is that it is an Irish import from Eire. Due to shortages in the British secondhand market, some Sciroccos from Eire were brought across in late 2009 (Sept-Nov). They also had small 17" wheels iirc with a GT spec.

Would have thought the car's logbook would reflect this if it was an import.

There's nothing on the log book to reflect it being an import; it was first registered in Glasgow.

Badges in the photo are a 2009 2.0 TSi. Your TS different?

Yep, no 'i'. At first I thought the 'i' was simply missing but there's no indication that there ever was an 'i' there and as I said, it doesn't have the suspension adjust buttons either which is no problem cos it drives like a go-cart anyway, much better then the Golf GTi it replaced.

"i" is just stuck on and could have fallen/been taken off, but the lack of suspension ACC button suggests Irish Import. ACC was/is standard UK 2.0TSi models.

Only chassis number would indicate. When you have built up enough posts, you can PM me the chassis number if you wish and I will have a look at the history.

Would it be safe for OP to post a picture of the vehicle data sticker (with VIN removed?), some folk on here might be able to tell you exactly what it is given the values on it.

What wheels (style/size) has the vehicle got? I agree that it is probably an Irish import.

Tyres are Bridgestone Potenza 225 45 17R with a Z speed rating.

That wheel /tyre size is almost certain its one of the Irish imports from 2009. UK's came with 18" wheels.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated. That may explain why I got it for £12k with only 13k miles on the clock.
