Well that makes two of us! Last week dealer phoned saying that my order had been accepted at the factory, but this morning when I phoned back asking him whether he's got a build week for me, he said it's not available yet (due to high demand of Scirocco's etc)... Gutted!

Build week was this week 11th April,........ The lease company are saying ETA to me of End of May ? Surely it doesnt take 6 weeks to build and deliver ? Ive been waiting since October. I just want my ROC !!!!!! Can anyone guess the ETA ?

Also anyone have some advise on Private plates - I am selling my current car before my ROC arrives so need to put on retention, I assume I wait for the ROC to be delivered and then swap it over ?

Well mine was built on the 28th March and it's still sitting in Portugal at the moment... so maybe it will take that long niggy.

Re-registered the old car a month before it was passed on and put the plate registration on retention. Took a week in Manchester DVLA.
Then handed over the retention certificate to the dealer and asked for the Scirocco to be registered & taxed using the certificate the week of taking delivery.

Jammy sod.... Ordered mine in October and still bloomin waiting

Just been told that mine has been built and released from the factory (whatever that means) and an ETA of 4 weeks to arrive with me!

Yay!!!!

Dealer telephoned with an update on my January 5th order.

Oh joy. Nothing, zilch, sod all. They'd phoned VW sales and chased. Position with the car is the same as it was at the end of January.



The wife has said that she definately wants the Roc. Who am I to argue.

Mine was still showing "P" on the system earlier but hopefully now i've removed the Multi Colour Screen it'll start moving a bit and the boxes on the screen start getting filled in

I'm ordering 2, one for each foot, problem solved.

Leasing company called today to say it was in the UK so should only be a couple of weeks now!!

My dealer has told me my car is due to be built in build week 17, so next week then.

Any idea how long I'll have to wait after that to pick up my car?

About 4 weeks from build week.

I'm sure the wait will be worth it in the end.... but the delivery date I was given originally has been delayed by a month already, I hope the Scirocco makes up for the poor service (and complete lack of communication unless I harrass them into it!) from VW dealers.

Update

Emailed my lease company today as build date was couple of weeks ago.. I have just had a reply....

"The vehicle has been built and is awaiting ship –once the finance company price protect your order the contracts will be raised shortly and emailed to you. "

The excitment is building, but what does the price protect bit mean ?????????

Dealer telephoned this morning with a build date of week 22, expect delivery last week of June or first week of July. Let's hope that if there is movement in the date it is forward and not back. That will make 27 weeks from initial order to taking delivery.

Same here Gibbsy, just had a call from my dealer saying week 22 for mine to be built

I just got a call from my dealer too and it is also scheduled week 22. There going to be doing a lot of cars that week :-)

Also week 22 is historically when they switch over to new model year

Haha you guys can't be serious! I just called my dealer the other day to ask whether there are any updates on the build week, and he said he's got a temporary build week 22 (could be a week sooner or later). Either way, expecting the car around end of June, start of July time.
