My worst moment was when the engine blew up after driving it for 10 miles.
Permanent engine faillure. The whole thing needs to be replaced.

Never mind, worse things happen at sea, I suppose! Just vandalism, I think. It might sound stupid but I almost wish they had stolen something. I'd at least be able to understand it if they had. My first ever insurance claim, too.

Well i can't beleive i will be adding this but hell it was bound to happen since we have no laws here  . I was near an intersection so i looked both sides saw no one so i kept on driving, 2 seconds later i hear tires burning out so i turn to see what it is and i saw this nissan murano raming me on the side. As it hit me, my car started turning and skiding in 180 and my right wheel hit the side walk so it totally broke. I hope this does not happen to anyone on here. Anyway here are the pictures, they speek loudly   . BTW turned out it was his fault because i had priority of way, but still that does not help me........ :eyepop:

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that raffoul. I could tell from your other posts that you really loved the car.
What is your next step? Will your insurance cover the repairs?

Ya i really did like my car, it wont feel the same anymore nick. Well my next step is to see the insurance company and they said that they examined the car and that they will give me prices 2morrow (btw they will fix it i asked) i will keep you posted on here so ppl can see incase something happens to them how much it costs. Also, i need to make sure that they will use new parts to fix it not second hand things. My last resort just incase the car will not be fixed in 3 motnhs or so, ill just traded in for a new one. thanks all for your concerns.......cheers

Just make sure the repairing garage is VW approved and is using genuine VW parts and paint, to protect your 12 year anti-perforation warranty. From the damage, that looks quite close to the limit for a write off and replacement - I'd say you've got about £11000 damage there, from what I can see (i'm sure that there is more damage that I can't. In the UK, if a repair is going to cost more than 60% of replacement cost, you'll get a settlement rather than repair, and for most of the popular companies, if it's under a year old, they'll replace it with a brand new one.

I had similar damage to my Golf GT Sport when it was a month old, parked up, and a bus swiped it.

If it's a close call between repair and replacement, i'd try to get a replacement from the insurance. If the sub frame is damaged and can't be straightened to "as new" tolerances then i'd be pushing for a replacement also.

I'd had mine a week when I popped to the hairdressers. I opened the door to get out just as a gust of wind took it, It was slow motion as I grabbed at the door handle and missed, the door made a sickening crack into a stone wall I was parked next too :( I had a nice chip on the side of the door that only I would know - I was gutted for hours!

Sorry took me a while to reply but ive been a bit busy . Anyway just wanted to tell everyone the car will only caust 20,000$ to fix. Offcourse the insurance has to pay for everything. Its not a write off so i am happy about that. Turns out engine didnt even get hit or anything like that. So, im pretty releived about that. The things they are changing is the left door, 2 brake discs, the roof of the cabine, 2 seats, 2 rims, new paint job, and all new airbags (btw dont ask me how all that causts $20k  ). Thats about it. I hope the drive will be the same as before the accident. Anyway here are more pictures really painfull to look at :faint:   :grumpy: :grumpy: :faint: ....................
