It wasn't a report as such. Following a recent spate of break-ins to cars around us the police were coming round trying to re-unite owners with 20 odd stolen sat-navs, radios, sunglasses etc. recovered from a pair of to-rags they caught a few nights earlier. They made the point that it seems that cars with rear tints were being targeted more often, especially at night. Maybe because the thieves can't see in properly.

You could argue that cars with rear tints tend to be more expensive / newer and therefore potentially offer richer pickings. Or just that cars with rear tints are becoming more common place.

All interesting and informative opinions BUT why is that spec not an option? My conversation with the dealer was..

I like the car, I'll mtake a GT or an R please but delete the tints.

Sorry mate they are compulsory. Still, its not a deal breaker is it?

I'll close the door on the way out. Thanks anyway. If I want a Fiesta Sport Van i'll buy one..................................

To me the tints are just part of it. They aren't that dark, but your opinion and your money and if you want them without, well don't get the car! (Even though it seems a silly reason.. :? )

Good luck finding the car you want.
