Power output may vary between individual engines, but I highly doubt that any 122 hp engine would actually have 18 hp extra. It's just too large a fraction of the original figure. I have had my 122 hp 1.4 TSI tested and according to the dyno it had 130 hp, which is something I think is reasonable to expect from the engine. The extra 8 hp will guarantee that it will have 122 hp in even the worst conditions (high temperature and altitude), but of course some engines might not have even 8 hp extra.

First timers, theres no way you can get insured on anything over 1.4 if youre a 17 year old guy. You can put all the style packs on to make your car look good but you cant get insured on a higher performance car. so yes people will buy this!

Actually a number of insurers *rbs insurance* *adrimal group* **cough** do require factory fitted options to be declared upon taking out a policy.

I don't no who told you that but you are so incorrect, You can get insured on any car you want as long as you can afford it..

I've been insured a 1.6t corsa vxr, 2.0 GT TDi MK5 Golf and 118D M-Sport, and i was 18 at the time.. But yes the 1.4 will appeal to the younger people because of insurance reasons.
