RS is a fitting car for an essex box

Loving the Golf especially now if cranked the Revo settings up a bit this weekend big mistake not buying two

I'm in Kent now (never stop moving) so a caravan and a few dags would suit the image better lol

Still think the MK VI is lovely getting the use of a 2.0 TDi next week when I'm off on my hols although not quite what I have in mind

Ok, but............as I eluded to.............if you are a "driver" and car feel is important then the RS delivers. Now that was my opinion after a short 10 mile test drive. Wigit, you came from an A3 so best qualified here, Ok so matey has a tuned S3, we all know the K04 TFSi engine can do 330 BHP easy but you slated the A3 handling, remember we are comparing an RS at 300 BHP stock...........Mountune is to come......

So , on balance, just because a modified stage 2+ S3 is faster is not a fair comparison with an RS that has yet to have a modifier work his art.

Andy, I feel your impartiality is being blinkered somewhat as you become more accustomed to the world of modding. Apologies if I read you wrong but we have had some lengthy chats and I cannot see how you can put an S3 above the RS when you are clearly a "car driver"...........

A3 handling is totally sh#te, anyone who thinks otherwise has never driven it hard enough, S3 is totally different car and standard damping and ride always surprised me, if not lacking in a bit of steering feel (involvement), i was agreeing with you comments that the s3 was a consideration, as they are reaching the end of their product life people are twigging how good they are

was catching with a few guys who'd tested these today and had one on test and all have said its an awsome drivers car, but a bit of a porker, as a b road blaster fantastic but consensus was you had to 'drive it' all the time even on motorways, the rs is the more sharper drivers weapon but that chap still had £2k in his pocket

the fact you can now by lime green rally style mudlfaps for the RS and people have them on their cars says it all

an intersting joker in the pack is the new Nissan 370z, lot smaller in flesh than 350z, v6 grunt and rear wheel drive, i got taken out in one thats getting reviewed and was amazed by the grip and the balance of the thing, proper drivers car, proper noise, and not a nightmare inside, when we off to kidlington

Trouble with the "datsun" is that a mate at work has one and has had to curtail his social life so that he can afford the fuel costs, only sees 20+ MPG on a long run. Not good when I am doing 25000 miles per year.

its not always about straightline performance but if you've got revo you are in with a chance on a 0-100mph off the public highway against an RS

Was due to test drive one of these yesterday with the dual clutch gearbox but ran out of time and had to cancel.

I am intruiged by it, big improvement all round over the 350z but from the reviews i have read it is a bit unrefined when you simply want to tool along on the motorway. Also i like to have my cake and eat it, i want good levels of performance but not the high running costs which is why the 2.0T based VW / Audi products are such a winner in my eyes.

I will post some information / pics if i get around to re-arranging.
