Looks good. No chrome exhaust pipes? That would be the 1st thing I would do.

Really?! Dosent look like chrome pipes. Some seriously dirty pipes if they are chrome. I use auto finesse mercury polish. It's a metal polish, I got mine for £10. Or you could try autosol.. Or you could try meguairs metal polish. Heard good things about this polish.

Auto finesse - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... cat20.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Meguiars - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... cat20.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Plus with mercury a little goes a long way. So should last a while

Yeah i gave them a clean on the side with just standard foam like and it cleared up abit but not the actual tips, i need some products to clean it properly and keep it shiny, can you only order these online? i'd rather purchase it from a shop than wait for delivery

You can buy the meguiars from the likes of halfords etc. usually halfords have a 3for2 on aswell. As for auto finesse only way you can buy that in a shop is from there shop or their resellers shops. You would have to check that to see which resellers have a shop. If you want to just go and buy it then id say the meguiars.havent used it but I have heard good things. But from experience I know that mercury is a really good product.

Hi mate. I'm hoping to by a Roc R in the coming months. I've got a few questions if you don't mind as I need to understand a few things. Was it a VW dealer in Colchester? Did you ask your local dealer to transport the car and is this something most would do? If the local dealer gets the car transported who do you actually buy the car from? Do they purchase the car from the distant dealer and then sell it to you? If so, what are the chances of getting the car cheaper than the original price? Also, if there is no movement on price what are the best things to ask a dealer to include in the sale ?
Sorry for all the questions! I live in Cornwall and alot of the cars I've seen are hundreds of miles away.
Any help is most appreciated

Hi there, scirocco r is something that i was looking at but fuel consumptions not to great, id love one but anyway... it was vw colchester (inchcape) , and maccesfield vw (inchcape), they were both linked some how, so you just have to make sure the dealers are in the same group, it cant just be vw to vw i dont think, it has to be the same branch like.. i got more discount from maccesfield, when i explained i wasnt receiving great service from colchester.. both dealers had different prices, colchester tried ripping me off luckily i rang up macc and they gave me a much better price, id ask for free service, mot, mats, fuel, etc

The R isn't much different to the tsi in terms of fuel consumption. You're probably talking 20 odd miles per tank, depending on driving. It's not like the difference between petrol and diesel.
I've just bought an R and I'm getting 300 miles per tank on average, a bit more if I do motorway miles.
I was on the verge of buying a GT but after seeing an R in the flesh there was only one car for me!

In terms of buying a car that is located at one vw dealer via another vw dealer, as mentioned its easier if both dealers belong to the same group (Inchcape (who own Colchester, Macclesfield, etc) being the largest). However, a vw dealership that belongs to one group will buy a car from another group if the deal works for them.
Basically, regardless of where they source the car from they will have to buy it before selling it to you. Even within the same branch/dealership different departments have to buy things from each other... e.g. If the sales department take a car in as a part ex and want it serviced before putting it up for sale then they have to pay their service department to carry out the work.
You'll more than likely get a better deal if you buy from the dealer who has the car though, because a dealer who is going to have to ship the car in for you will have to factor in transport costs etc and will also want to charge you a hefty deposit which will be non returnable if the car is as described but you change your mind when seeing it.

My advice is to travel the miles to view the car at the original dealership, but call them beforehand and strike a deal over the phone subject to everything being to your satisfaction. At least that way you'll know there's no danger of traveling the distance to find out that the dealer wants more for the car than you're willing to pay. They'll also give you a price on your part ex, if you've got one, over the phone too and will stick to it as long as your car is pretty much how you described it.

Have you tried asking any dealerships to check vw uk stock? Also worth asking them to call motorbility too as they may have a few for sale.

to be honest, i couldnt really afford to run the R. i like to put my foot down and hear that brup lol so a 2.0tsi dsg was the one for me, the r would of been a dangerous bet :P ! i dont know if theres a lot of difference in power or where you could put the power down but the 210 is enough for me, the R defo has the nice looks and stuff , but its not like i got a bog standard gt at the end of the day, hope your enjoying the R pal.

and to add i got a better deal at the dealer who got the car shipped
