Yes is very good, it's something I have never really bothered with as i dont use the phone alot in the car, but now the price for the latest kits have dropped to £220 I didn't mind paying such a small amount to add it.

On the whole it is pretty wicked, although I have had a couple of occasions where it disconnects and tells me there is no bluetooth signal - might be the phone but didnt have that problem with other car kits.

I also find that sometimes it connects "premium" style ie access to messages etc but others it doesnt do this and I can't messages??

Parrots are poo with smartphones - get it changed if poss (dont know how though sorry!)

Shamless plug..............

Got an OEM VW Bluetooth kit available. it is one of the latest versions.

3C8 - allows multiple pairings, SMS with a RSAP phone, will pair with RSAP and UHV (Iphone is UHV). Stream music via BT.

only 1 month old in the car. All bits including new OEM mic, RSAP aerial, loom and BT module. even comes with foam holder that sits under the passenger seat.

Available to those who can access the relevant forums

it will pair with UHV phones (iphone is UHV), it is just the sms will only work for rSap phones and not UHV.
the latest VW OEM kit has both technologies in it, if you don't use the rSap side of it so be it, but thats how it is, it has both.
if you only want a UHV bluetooth technology only kit, if I understand it correctly, you won't be looking at the VW OEM kit.

I think staying oem is definitely the way forward plus if something goes wrong all you have to do is call dealer and drop down there , rather than make a call to a smaller firm and have that nightmare.

I've thought about this for a while but after getting fed up with the bury kit I had I think it's time. Is there really only one version available for the red mfd equipped cars? I've seen some for sale on eBay but they are alot more expensive than 220 pounds. Plus the part number when checked with a VW dealer comes up brand inhibit. That means it's for another make in the vag group most likely skoda. Has anyone experience of fitting one of these?

Are you talking about a factory fit only option or is this available as retro fit ? Looking on VW site this seems the closest match ....
http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/acce ... technology
..... but has no pic yet. So does the unit you are getting kane have a separate screen or is it all built in to the head unit ?
