crunchy gear change on my 2.0 TSI manual

Post by cockals1983 »

Hi

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problems as I'm having at present.

I have a 59 plate 2.0 TSI which I love but I have been having a lot of problems changing gear from 1st - 2nd and 2nd -3rd. Sometimes I can change gear and its perfectly smooth and but the majority of the time its really difficult to change gear to the extent that it feels like it won't actually change gear. Some times it will crunch the gears despite the clutch being fully engaged.

I've previously asked the dealership to look at it but they say they can't see anything wrong with it.

I'm really keane to find out it could be as its getting really annoying and I'm worried its damaging the gear box.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I'd say worth trying another dealer and getting a second opinion, they aren't renowned for their consistency

Definitely something wrong - the change should be super slick.
