Cruise on a manual

Post by jphealy »

This might be a stupid question, but do they fit cruise control to manual cars? The only cars I've ever seen or driven, that had cruise, have had auto 'boxes. So can you get cruise control on a manual Scirocco then?

I've always thought Cruise suits an Auto far more than a Manuel...

Depends how far you drive I guess. I have relatives in Newcastle and Wales so it's a long drive from Oxford. Cruise will be a great boon when you're on the M1 and A1 for 90 odd miles a piece. Handy too through the roadworks. Instead of watching the speedo you can slap the cruise on and tootle through without worrying about getting some points.

I used cruise all the time in my manual Leon. It's so good for traffic camera areas and roadworks. Also exceptionally good for the 150 miles of the M5 from Birmingham to Exeter!

I often drive from Portsmouth to the Midlands & Manchester & just normally leather it... I hear what you say about the average speed cameras but there are only for a few miles & I see it as a personal challenge / fag break moment anyway :)

Horses for courses but my personal feeling is that cruise control detracts from a real driving experience / control :)

If you like it then fair play - it's the option for you :)
