VW Dealers....

Post by adamj »

Is it just me or do they all just not care about customers?

My Scirocco is due its first service next month. Due to several problems and a total lack of customer care I will not be taking it back the the suppling dealer.

I have phoned 3 other local dealers service departments to get a price on the service. Two of the three were unable to take my call so I left a message for them to call me with the receptionist - never heard back. I was on hold for the service department so long for the thrid one I hung up.

Never know anything like this - was never an issue with my previous Honda's or BMW's VW dealers really just don't give a dam about customers

Anyone know a good dealer in the Northwest? I don't really want to go independent while under warrenty, but VW are a joke.

rant over!

Have had the same problems trying to get answers to documents that I have signed, emails not replyied to phone calls not returned.
Can still go into my Honda garage (where I purchased and had serviced my last car and my partners car) and they still know my name even though they know I have a VW now. I am dreding sevice time.
Is this a kind of German arrogance that filters down right to the dealers? Sounds like BMW are not, what’s others opinion.
Do VW care?

My experience of VW Dealers in Merseyside has been similar.
In fact they were so sloppy and disinterested in selling me a car, I ended up buying mine from a Dealer in Cirencester!
I intend using Dane VW in Bromboro for servicing as they seem to be the best of a bad bunch.

I got my car from them - don't go near them is all I will say....

Peter, funny you say that about Honda dealers my local one is the same even though I haven't bought from them for about 4 years now! Know what make I will buy next and from which dealer!

Its a shame such a good car is so let down so badly by VW and its dealers.

If anyone asks me about my Scirocco now (which loads of people do) my responce is - "great car, shame its a VW"

Makes you wonder if you cant take your VW to a Honda agent for service, should not affect warranty as long as its done by a competent garage ????????????????
My problem is I have signed up for a three year service contract with VW this gives me some free extras but ties me in, might be worth you considering.

if my car wasn't on the vw servicing package i'd get mine done with Volkswagen Racing in MK as they are a authorised service agent so service history is maintained (but can't do warranty work) labour rates more attractive and know their onions, that said no need as my dealer is excellant all be it not the closest

I actually asked my friendly Honda sales guy, he said that while they wouldn't turn work down it is best to stick to VW at least for the first 3 years for servicing. I have considered an idependent (or Honda) using VW parts but I most probably won't keep the Roc more than 3 years so dealer service history (or the stamp) will make it worth more and more sellable I guess especially while used prices are so strong.....

Wonder if I should do a post "HOW DO YOU RATE YOUR VW DEALER" and then send the results to VW in Germany to see if they care,
Don’t know if any else got a call from VW asking if you got satisfaction from your dealer, the guy that sold me my car told me about this and asked me to give him full marks on all the questions as he gets a £2000 bonus if all his sales for that month are five star. Me being an obliging chap did as asked, this is now the guy that will not reply to my queries. THINK I HAVE BEEN HAD.

On a more positive note I've always had decent service from Charles Barber & Sons in Northwich.

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/retailers/708/contact" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not a million miles from Bromborough (well about 30 actually).

Don't know whether it might be too far for one of their pick up and drop off services? Worth giving them a call eh.

P.S. If it makes you feel better I've had terrible service off the the dealer who is supplying my car. They are based in Ayr Scotland. My sales guy is monosyllabic and he winds me up!!!
