I've recently purchased a 2009 Scirocco 2.0 TSI and I've owned it for about 2 months now. Clocked in at around 144k miles.
The first problem regarding the misfires happened when I just came home and parked it, noticing that it started idling really rough and the check engine light started flashing and the EPC light came on. I opened the hood and checked the connections to the coilpacks, after that it has been driving perfectly.
The misfires started again last week when I changed to summer tires strange enough. Don't remember the exact fault codes but it misfired on cylinder 3 and 4. I left it at my friends house for the week after noticing the misfires and it's been staying there until yesterday.
I replaced the coilpacks aswell as the spark plugs but the misfires continues. Took the OBD2 reader again and it didn't spit out any misfire codes from what I remember but we had a code for P1364 "Ignition Activation Cyl. 4: Open Circuit", even though it's clearly misfiring.
Drove it home slowly on low rpms and I noticed the car start shaking a lot when accelerating, aswell as the rough idle after the RPMs drop on a cold startup.
I greatly suspect there is something wrong with the connectors to the coilpacks, or some kind of electrical fault with the wires to the coilpacks, since when I fiddled around with coil connectors before, the problems went away.
Ordered new connectors and I am going to replace them when they arrive, but do you guys think there is anything else I should think about, or something I have missed?
Greatly appreciate any feedback, help or input!!
