I know there is a lot of discussion about oil here, and on other sites, but not specificaly for this engine
However, I live in Croatia, if that does matter. The engine code is CAVD, 230 000 km on clock. Until now, I always used specificaly, and only Castrol EDGE fst 5w30LL. In 3 years I only had to top little bit (2-3dcl) maybe 2 times between oil change. I strictly change oil once a year, always before summer holidays. So July. and this always hapen to be between 11-12 000 kms. But, I´m never quiet happy with this. After change, engine quiets prety good. But I have a feel that this doesn`t last long. And since last oil change (not exactly, but from that period) i think I can hear lifters to tap little bit. Doesn`t matter if the engine is cold, hot, very hot, always. And I feel like I´m not doing good to car with this oil. So I decided to go for the 5w40 this time, and stop using LL oil. So that means to go from 504/507 to 502. So I want to try to find out if that is good to do, and what you people think. Also, what oil to put in in this class? Iĺl put link to the site where I could order from, so would be good to get some recomendation from their asortimant. Any experiences with this engine about oils is welcome, since aas I said, there is not a lot of this on web.
