New exhaust just got quieter

Post by Bops »

Last week I changed my exhaust system by removing the rear suitcase muffler with straight pipes & replaced the centre resonator with a Magnaflow straight through round muffler. The guy at the exhaust shop said that it will get louder as the new muffler beds in.
I've had it for about a week & I swear it's gotten quieter.

Is that normal?

Cheers,
Bops

I'm my experience they get quieter as they carbon up. I can't see how it could get louder after "bedding in"

Yeah they get quieter not louder.

the only reason I can think of is for it to get quieter is if the resonator was huuuuuge!
