Hi all
Is it possible to upgrade the firmware/software/map versions on the RNS 315? If so, how? via bootable CD or SD card? Does anyone have any contact details/links for suppliers for these upgrades? Surprisingly I drew a blank at my local VW dealer!
There seems be loads of software/map upgrades available for the RNS 510 but very little for the RNS 315

Maps should be possible for you to do yourself. The RNS-315 uses a different update technique to the RNS-510 and includes protection to prevent you just copying the maps to multiple cars, so borrowing a card from someone won't work. Your dealer should be willing to sell you the updated maps, although this won't come cheap.
As for firmware, any updated firmware would also have to come from VW as I haven't seen anyone post an update for it. Dealers seem reluctant to update firmware unless you can prove you're having an issue that is fixed in a later version, so you may be out of luck here.
