Hey everyone, just putting something out there, I've owned a 2010 Scirocco 2.0TSi since 2014, and since i've owned it it's had this lovely high pitched purr that kicks in when you put your foot down, but it's recently had an MOT and the Turbo Diverter valve replaced and now it doesn't make the sound anymore - first world problems I know!
Not having driven any other Sciroccos I have no reference to whether others have this sound, or whether something has been corrected by the turbo diverter valve being replaced... the car runs perfectly of course, but I'm wondering whether I need to get it checked out...
Thanks!

Re: Scirocco Sound
The diverter valves commonly split their seals on the 2.0TSI engine - resulting in a boost leak.....sounds like the high pitched purr you had was the whistle from boost leaking via the valve.

Re: Scirocco Sound
A bit worrying as it had this sound since I bought the car in 2014. Before I had the turbo diverter valve replaced it wasn't even leaking as such (it was described as 'sweaty'), could this still be the case? Many thanks for your response, much appreciated.
