Does anyone know if you can up turn off the bulb life time extension for the headlights using VCDS like people seem to be able to do with Passats? Or do the headlight on a Scirocco normally run at full alternator voltage?
theres a link for disabling the bulb life extender on a Passat;

Yes this is possible, maybe not the same byte and bit but it is in module 09. If you have xenon headlights then you have to turn this off.

You don't happen to know the exact route to turn it off do you? I had another look but i couldn't find anything.

On my car it's controller 09 byte 19.
Re: turning off bulb life time extension with VCDS
Yeah that is the same way the link showed how to do it on a Passat but I'm sure my byte 19 was completely different.
I'll have to have another look at the weekend. Cheers for the info.

Re: turning off bulb life time extension with VCDS
I have had another look and on my car, controller 09-Cent.Elect. byte 19 shows;
Bit 0 - Cold diagnosis low beam active
Bit 1 - Cold diagnosis front parking lights active
Bit 2 - Cold diagnosis rear parking lights active
Bit 3 - Diagnosis rear parking lights active
Bit 6 - Electric parking break installed
Any other ideas? If there is no option for altering the headlight voltage does that mean they are already running at aleternator voltage maybe?

That looks like byte 18 on my car. Maybe you can take a look in the adaptation channels if it's moved to there? Another option is to contact someone with vag can pro.
That's also possible that they removed it for newer cars.
