Hi all
Does any body know how the factory fitted reversing sensory are wired in
And how they are switched on and off
I know the aftermarket mods are wired using the reverse live cable.

I may be wrong but I think they are wired in through Canbus.
Don't think you can switch them off but you can mute the sound using a setting on the head unit.

Re: Factory fitted reversing sensors
So I have started stripping down looking for he fault
Found a box in the right hand corner of the boot which when disconnected stop the reversing sensor beeping

But I still have constant reverse light stuck on...arghhhhhh

Re: Factory fitted reversing sensors
On golf 4 the reverse sensor was fitted on the topside of the gearbox in the engine bay. But is your reverse lights coming on while driving forward? Or do you have a continous beep only when you are reversing? Then i could be a faulty sensor. First scan it with vcds to search for errors.

Re: Factory fitted reversing sensors
Sounds like your reverse switch is kaput. I was reading your other post about it here http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 99#p169099" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Or something is shorted/bad ground.

Re: Factory fitted reversing sensors
Don't think a faulty reverse switch would give the intermittent fault ... Think it's more like a short between cable and car body somewhere
