iphone 5/rns510 59 plate scirocco

hi guys,
any idea how i get my iPhone to work on my stereo so i can skip tracks and listen to music etc on the main unit. my iPad works but i bought a new lead for my iPhone 5 and it doesn't work please help. only just bought the car so i must admit I'm a newbie ...and Ive just come to realise i can't turn my lights off lol but reading some other threads i think ill save that question for another day lol!!

Did you get the lead from VW?

My local garage is really helpful and spent a bit of time trying different leads till they got it all to work. I too had bought a lead for my previous R-Line and it didn't work so I gave up thinking it just wasn't going to work.

It's in the garage today so hopefully when I pick it back up will be sorted... :-)

You have to update the software ! Google 2009 scirocco head unit software update ! All you do is put the file on a memory stick and plug it into the connection the should have came with the car ! It's the mdi to usb cable ! Hope it helps

So I have to put the file on a sd card then just put that in the head unit and it downloads automatically?
