Thinking of buying... Is it worth it?

Post by Azar »

Hello all, I have just joined the forum after months of reading through and admiring peoples cars, guides and advice. There seem to be some very nice, helpful people on here from what I have seen.

I need a bit of input from you as to what I should do... I have found two Scirocco 2.0TSI that I like with almost the same spec, one is a MY59 (2010 model) with the RCD510 and 54,000 miles up for £11,975, the other is a MY11 with RNS510, with 47,000 miles up for £13,995. Both are Candy white with heated seats and DSG, which is what I was after. Both offered £7000 p/x for my current car, not sure if that is at all relevant.

My question is, what is the better deal?... I would like the RNS510, however is the extra cost worth it or should I get the MY59 and retro fit?

Thanks in advance.

Azar.

If you can afford the 11 plate Id go for that. No hassle changing the radio and not much difference in price for s newer car.

I disagree haha. Unless you have a problem with the age of the vehicle you're clearly saving money for the sake of a few miles and a head unit. Yes 54,000 is a little bit more but still below average for its age but with the savings you could buy an rns (or even a kenwood!)

Either way you'll be happy with your choice :)

out of interest bluetooth in both?

Thanks for the input.

philhay92: whick kenwood would you recommend? Just so i have an idea of what it can do and the cost?

I believe the my59 has bluetooth. The my11 had this on the photos i have seen so my guess is that it doesnt have factory bluetooth.

Where did you get it from? I have seen them going for £600 at least. Do you have the latest one, and with bluetooth module?

That is a standard vw screen in your picture mate its just a little different (and in my mind a little pointless).

Got it off a forum so second but it does what i need it too. Its not the most up to date but it can be update.

I believe the kenwood model is dnx520vbt

So is it an additional thing for bluetooth that is linked to the RNS or is it instead of using the bluetooth module for the RNS?

Got a good deal there.

Okay thanks for that, can that be used with steering wheel controls and MFD?
