YyBs Black Pearl - Converted to facelift with Lane Assist
Hello everybody. I think it's time to introduce myself and my Scirocco.
My name is Weiwei, I'm 26 years old and a Mercedes Benz mechanic from Düren/Germany.
I've bought my Scirocco 1.4 TSI (118 kW) in March 2009 with around 6.000 km on the clock (deminstration car).
Many kilometres (more than 119.000) were driven and a lot of thinks happened.
Here is a small summery of the most important thinks...
Changes:
- lowered springs (SAT 40)
- Armrest incl. vents and cupholders for the rear passengers
- Covered cupholders
- RNS 510 incl. roof antenna
- Rear view camera
- MY10 Steering wheel, later multifunctional buttons
- Xenon
- LED DRL from the Scirocco R with police flash light function
- climate control unit MY10 than updated to MY13
- Scirocco R exhaust incl. switch for the exhaust flap
- Scirocco R rear bumper
- Milltek 200 cell cat back
- Remap by Siemoneit Stade/Germany (now 216 bhp)
- R tail lights swapped to Litec LED tail lights
- 8,5J x 19" offset 34 alloys by WSP Italy
- rain and light sensor incl. dipping mirror
- black foliation for the interior trim
- Scirocco R gear leaver
- metal footrest
- footwell in red for ambience and white for access
- red ambience lighting for the door handles
- access lighting in the door (or how do you call the small light in the door panel?)
- interior lighting complete LED
- licence plate lighting LED
- Door sill panel Scirocco R-Line
- Rabbit logo on the boot lid and the key (I love the logo and my chinese zodiac is rabbit )
- automatic opening boot lid
- some VCDS coding like automatic closing windows etc.
Here are some pictures:
I also had a small accident in June 2012 with a damage of ~ 8.000 EUR.
And here a also a few Videos...
Exhaust sound:
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Flash light:
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The next project is the complete conversion to the Scirocco R facelift exterior.
It wasn't love at first sight but after a small peek at my local dealer I was convinced to do the conversion.
I really like the sharp edges. It does let the car looks wider and more aggressive.
More pictures are coming and until than I would really appreciate some comments and critics

Hi. nice car you have there but i have to ask though why would you want your DRl's to flash like a police car?? seems to serve no purpose other than to attract the attention of the real police and arrest you for impersonating a police car???

Re: YyBs Black Pearl
That was just an optional function of the control unit I've tried.
I'm not using it on the road, don't worry

How much was they and where did you get them from. Also interested to know if they are plug and play. Doubt it though

I got them from a mate for a good price
Unfortunately they're not plug&play. You have to changed the wiring on the headlights and xenon range. You'll also need a new control unit for the range.

Hi Weiwei , welcome to the forum ! Great looking car and some really interesting technical mods that you've done
From your long list of mod's I'm particularly interested in -
- Xenon >> what did you do (apart from changing the white bulbs to orange) , to get the Headlamp DRL's to act as indicators ?
- LED DRL from the Scirocco R >> How did the 'fill the gap' between the R LED DRL and the standard sidelight surround ?
- red ambience lighting for the door handles >> How did you do this ? , how is it wired ? got any pictures please ?
- automatic opening boot lid >> what is this ? strong tailgate struts ? where did you get them ?
by the way - access lighting in the door (or how do you call the small light in the door panel?) - we call these 'puddle lights'
Thanks
Lee

Re: YyBs Black Pearl
Hi uklee!
1. You have to change the wiring on the BCM and swap the DRL with the indicators.
2. I've modified the surroundings an glued them onthe LED unit.
3. I've soldered a red LED on the window switch lighting and put them behind the small cap right above the door handle. The alternative is a VW OEM solution: http://www.team-dezent.at/anleitungen/g ... tigung.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
4. I used springs: http://m.ebay.de/itm?itemId=131254371394" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
5. I see, thanks
BTW:
The front is done. Everything is working perfectly even the dynamic cornering light!

Re: YyBs Black Pearl
How did you get the footwell lighting to change between red and white depending on access or ambience?

Re: YyBs Black Pearl
Thanks Yyb ! - especially for the web links
1. You have to change the wiring on the BCM and swap the DRL with the indicators.
I already have Bi-Xenon headlamps fitted as standard - is it still necessary to change the wiring on the BCM ? or can this change be done with VCDS ? - Do you know the required coding changes ?
3. I've soldered a red LED on the window switch lighting and put them behind the small cap right above the door handle
Could you please post a couple of pictures of how yours look now ( day / night )
Thanks
Lee

Hi Weiwei, welcome to the forum, very nice modsYyB wrote:The front is complete finished now.

I can see that your front bumper has parking sensors installed.
How did you do this? What parts do you need?

The front sensors don't work. If I retrofit them I'll let you know what you'll need.
