Hi,
I've had my 2009 Scirocco 2.0 GT TSI (Rising Blue)for about 6 months now. I have spent so many hours cleaning, clay bar, polishing and waxing etc that it now looks great. I now want to do some mods without spending a fortune and without going too mad. Below is what I am thinking of doing bearing in mind I just want a little more performance and a nicer look, without compromising the car too much.
Engine tune - Stage 1 250bhp (Vagtech)
Induction kit - VWR cold air induction kit
Lowering springs - VWR 20mm (ACC compatible)
Cat back exhaust - Not sure....Help (not too loud)
Any comments or experience of the above would be appreciated.
Scirocco upgrade without going too mad!

I would definitely recommend the remap, makes a huge difference to the power and definitely gives better economy (when you're not driving it hard!) You won't regret it!
I'd be interested to hear from people on the induction kit as I'm considering one myself but don't want to remap the engine again... should have really done this first. Really just looking for that deeper induction sound, if I could get a few extra horses as well then that would be a plus.

Go for an Evolution Motorsport (Evoms) intake... best for these engines for performance...
Not all the VW branded stuff is the best surprisingly.

TheHungryHipo,
Did you experience any clutch slip after you had a stage one?
I read that sometimes it can happen and an uprated clutch is required (not sure how true that is)!

No I never had any issues with clutch. I don't think the power increase would be enough to start causing any clutch problems.

I would say you can make a lot of miles with the OEM clutch with stage 1 but all depends on how you drive.
If you want more power in the future you will have to change.
Mine gave up after 7000km with stage 2+.
