I have a MY12 and it doesn't have a remote fuel flap release, so it's not always been there. The button on the diver's door operates the boot release on mine.

The dealer specs on auto trader/trader adverts are always over embellished & half the time not even right for the model or trim level which is probably the case here
When I was looking for my (DSG) car - almost half the DSG advertised cars on official VW dealer web pages turned out (when you looked at the pictures) to be manual!
They really are hopeless. When the delaer that supplied my current Roc advertised my Golf Match (which was traded in) they never mentioned all the optional extras that were fitted to it...
