Hi
I'm the proud owner from yesterday of a 2010 170Tdi but unforunatley my bluetooth doesn't work with my phone. Have been reading up a bit about it but was hoping someone could clarify a few things for me.
The module currently in my car is 5N0 035 730 B, Is there a module i can get that i can simply just plug out my old one and plug in the new one without any issues? Alot of people seem to be selling the whole kit which i don't think i need?
Is this module compatible?

Thanks in advance and any help is greatly appreciated.

Seems you have the rSap only module.
There are various modules you can buy that will be compatible. The one you posted (ebay link) - 5K0035730D should work, and I don't believe it is rSap only, so should work with your phone, the description says so as well.

Does that unit need the aerial?

Re: Bluetooth help required
No - that module doesn't seem to be rSap compatible.
Only rSap units need an aerial - this is because the module effectively takes control of your Sim Card once you connect it. As such, it doesn't use your phone's 3G reception, it has to get one of its own.
rSap = (Remote Access Sim Profile). Hope this helps.
So to reiterate, it should be plug and play. If you are a bit weary, I can give you the number of the latest modules to look for.
Have you got a red MFD or a white one (out of interest)

Panasonicman - not all use samsung or phones compatible with rSap, so quite a few complain the phone doesn't work - and it's probably easier for them to swap out the module.
ripper1001 - Since you have a white MFD, you should be able to connect up a new module no problem! You probably wont even need to code it.
There is the unit you mentioned.
Also 3C8 035 730 X (where X is the revision letter e.g. A, B, C etc) will work; this module is rSap and HFP, so would work with all phones. You will have to figure out where to put the aerial though.
7P6 035 730 X modules are the most popular. They tend to be HFP phones only - which isnt an issue with any smartphone.
HFP = (hands free profile).
Watch out for any of those. Something worth of note - make sure the bluetooth streaming (A2DP) is compatible with your stereo!
