Media Dock not working

Post by rscut »

Started the car up this morning and the media dock played my iPod, however the screen said media initilizing and then cut the iPod off and now the media dock won't show on the list of media devices. On the iPod itself, it recognises that it's plugged into an accessory but no option to play the devise is displayed on the head unit. I've turned the engine off, unplugged the cable etc. any ideas?

Yep, do the reset above and reconnect.
I get it from time to time, especially if it's been a really cold night.

yes - same here, they do need the occasional reset for some reason.

I wondered why mine would not work last night, then quickly realised I had removed it for re-sync with the PC! Doh! :D

Sometimes this happens when the battery on the ipod goes flat and it takes a while for enough power to get into it power it up. Happens regular on the wifes car as she only does a 5 minute commute.

Went out to the car at lunch time and it worked fine? Its one of those touch screen shuffles, which lives in the car, so maybe due tovthe cold, but would still work with the headphones. Nevermind, cheers for the help.
