SKODA Fabia VRS 1.4 tsi (180PS) using oil.

Post by monkeyman »

Don't shoot me but I traded in my beloved 'Roc for a Skoda Fabia VRS. Its a fantastic car and it the estate guise that I have mine in means the boot is bigger than Narnia. However all is not well and good with the engine. Its the 1.4 Tsi found across the VAg but mine has an astounding thirst for oil. Its got just over 2000 miles and drained the sump twice!!!! I've checked under the car for any signs of a leak and came up empty. I can't see any blue smoke from the exhaust so I'm at a complete loss as to what the problem is. Will be phoning the dealer in the morning for them to check it over, but just wondered if anybody on here with that engine has had an oil thirst problem?
Any help would be appreciated.

OK, you won't find anything on here about this problem. Its specifically a 180PS problem.

You need to read up about the Polo GTi 180PS oil drinking on relevant Polo forums/Skoda

Current mod which appears to failing in a lot of post modified cases, involves a revised breather pipe and ECU software changes. Talk to your Skoda dealer about this problem and the bulletin. Free oil to cover while the problem is solved may be offered.

(Being moved to "Cars & Motoring" Forum as its no impact on Scirocco.)

Audi A1 185, Polo GTI, Fabia Vrs, Ibiza cupra , all these models have the 1.4 tsi 180hp all they have high oil consumption .
Here in Greece Dealers 2 years now they Change engines , no solution they change piston and piston rings, no solution , they follow the new VW tech instruction( breather pipe and ECU Remap) and again NO SOLUTION . The last month they start again the engine replacing and some guys said now they have not oil consumption

Its the same engine with the scirocco 160hp but the 160 version even with stage2 remap it have not problem with oil
