Hey,
Got an email from Silverstone yesterday saying they are dong tracks days where you can take your own car there for £39, hmm, ive always been tempted to take the roc to a track day. Got me thinking, has anyone here actually gone on one of these track days in the Scirocco?? would be cool to hear your experiences!

Re: Track days
Yup....done Cadwell several times.....
Its HARD on brakes as the roc is quite heavy........on sport mode on lowered H&R springs with uprated anti roll bars it goes round corners pretty well.....ive found tyre wear to be pretty good. Our remapped 2.0 TSI keeps up with 95% of cars but eventually gets let down by the brakes....in the wet there arnt many car that will keep up with us....LOL.....as we are keeping it for a while yet I recon new brakes are going to be fitted sooner or later.

Ah I am jealous! Sounds pretty awesome, I'd really love to be able to give it some boot round the track and see how it reacts. I imagined it would be pretty hard in the breaks, I'm due some new tyres so would have to get them sorted if I decided to go, may have to look into it a little bit more now though. Would be brilliant!

Re: Track days
The factory brakes (pads) basically arn't up to extended track laps but beyond that 30mins (one session) is about as long as you'll be able to do before they need a rest anyway. The Silverstone short (national) course being used for taster sessions is decent enough and fairly friendly in terms of difficulty and wear. I can see the logic is Silverstone having picked that course over the full GP layout for novice sessions.

Re: Track days
Do it, if nothing else it will show you what the roc can and cannot do; agree with the comments on brakes, they aren't really up to it but better to find the limitations in a controlled environment than on a public road.

Thanks!
Re: Track days
In reality bigger brakes mean you just have the ability to brake harder later so just be aware of the limitations and make you you do cool down laps
That said I'm in France at moment and got invited to do a track day on Monday and declined due to brakes, if I'd got 4 pots on I would have been borrowing a lid
