The Olympics

Post by James321 »

Ok, so the whole world is now wondering what the f**k we are all smoking over here in Britain. Nothing says Great Britain more than a giant floating tree :shake:

The only way to counter the Chinese amazing opening ceremony is with a traditional panto staring Mr Bean.

I think it was rather good and entertaining actually! Waiting for the pyro finale now in an hours time.

It's different. No one wants the same sh1t all the time so credit to Danny Boyle I say

Hmmm...what can I say. Waited all that time for the pyro and the BBC decide to ruin it interlacing it with some pointless old VT crap!!!!

I feel for Jane and rest of the KF team who have been slogging away preparing the pyro. BBC should be ashamed of themselves.

On the whole good, but...

Muhammad Ali - not fair on him rolling him out. Can't stand for himself never mind know where he was.
Paul Mcartney - just wtf. We need to stop showcasing people who were good 50 years ago.

I was skeptical but Danny Boyle pulled it off.

The start was a bit dull but it picked up.
Overall I think it wasn't too bad. I quite liked the idea of not having anyone famous lighting the cauldron.

They could do with speeding up the teams coming in though. That was nearly 2 hours!

But my biggest gripe was the Queen. What a misery guts she looked. Didn't smile once, and when Team GB were coming in they cut to show her picking her finger nails and looking very disinterested.

That was incredibly bad editing showing the queen more interested in a bit of dirt in her fingernail, I think she got a flat on the way over so had to fit the spare tyre?

The second half was much better, it was just the initial scene from 'The Shire' that had me and possibly 4 billion other people confused.

Going well so far for Team GB!

I've been watching a lot of the archery. Never seen it before and they don't seem to be covering it in the main evening shows so I've had it on in the corner of my computer at work :) Some great matches.

Should be on for some more medals in the track cycling which should be good. Rowing is going well too and the athletics gets going today.

Loving it so far :D

Kev,

If the archery has grabbed your attention, give it a go at the end of the month - see http://www.archerygb.org/bigweekend" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

You won't need to move to South Korea, honest !
