Hi All,

I have been reading for a while finially took the plunge yesterday and ordered a 2lt tdi GT in rising blue. Can not wait for it to arrive!!!

Anyway after looking and reading here i decided not to get the factory fit option with the bluetooth phone kit.

Can anyone here suggest a retrofit one that will work witht he muti-function steering wheel and leave me not needing another screen somewhere on the dash?

I did have a quick look through the posts but got confused, even if someone could point me to a previous post that would be great!!!

thanks

Have a look here:
http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =25&t=4924

You have mainly 3 options (prices in pounds):
- Skoda Bluetooth, works with all bluetooth phones, can be used with the steering buttons, it is integrated with the MFA and RCD/RNS 510. Fully integrated, nothing visible. Aprox 200 + fitting.
- VW Premium Bluetooth, works only with rSAP phones (mostly Nokia phones), can be used with the steering buttons, it is integrated with the MFA and RCD/RNS 510. Fully integrated, nothing visible. Take into account that if it was not factory fitted you don't have a GSM antenna in the shark fin, and the you either have to fit it (not an easy task) or use a small one (not very efficient). Aprox 300 + fitting.
- FISCON: Its has all the advantages of both Skoda and VW BT (works with all phones, SMS in the MFA, RCD/RNS integration) but it is the most expensive option. For MY2010 it does not display additional info such as rpm on the MFA (it does, however, on MY2009). It comes with a microphone ala Parrot, and the integrated one has to be bought separately. Aprox 400 + fitting.

If you are not going to install the shark fin GSM antenna the Premium one is a waste of money in my opinion, because signal improvement is its main advantage. Skoda and Fiscon are good options, the later being easier to find in retail shops.

Hey Rochide, welcome to the site and to future 'Roc ownership.

If you want something totally integrated, you'll find many fans on here of the FISCON. I had mine fitted at the meet in Feb, all you can see if the little mic at the top of the A-pillar and it's totally integrated with both the radio and the DIS.

There is an discount code on here, but keep an eye out because they guys from Milton Keynes do a few "specialis" during the year.

:-)

Hi RocHide :welcome:

I can see though that you must already be aware of the permium bluetooth not being 'bluetooth' as you or I think of it but rsap which doesn't not work with a number of phones.

as Combusted says you have a few options, bit out on your pricing though Combusted the Fiscon is nearer £300 last time I looked & can you have the VW premium bluetooth retrofitted? I though not but happy to be educated. (not that RocHide wants it anyway)

£352.5 as quoted on fiscon.co.uk, but for that price you get a microphone for the A-pillar which in my opinion is not comparable to Skoda / VW solution which is integrated in the roof panel (it costs around £20 if I'm not mistaken to get the equivalent microphone for the Fiscon). The is also a slightly cheaper Fiscon (£323.13) with no RCD/RNS integration. So, apples to apples, its £372.5 (Fiscon) vs £200 (Skoda).

Didn't think you could get the roof panel mic retrofitted without major work in removing headlinings etc?

It is dead simple, it just takes a couple more minutes to fit than the A-pillar microphone. The headlining does not have to be removed. Check this link to get an idea of the whole operation. Sorry, it is in Spanish but the pictures are pretty self-explanatory.

the nav system itself can't be lumar you need either; the premium bluetooth kit (factory fitted usually & doesn't work with iphones as they don't have rsap which it works on), Fiscon or another retrofit system (VW branded Bury system or Parrot for example)
all discussed above & in various places on the forum

I know it's a slightly different point, but I noticed from previous posts that some folk had fitted the Skoda bluetooth box in place of the rsap Premium box that had been facotry fitted. If you were to do this would the bluetooth setup just rely on the signal you get on the phone and would you therefore lose the benefit of the better signal from the shark fin aerial?

Hi Guys thanks for your help. The fiscon guys were really good to talk to and help with things. The only problem was i had to change my pick up dates for the car and couldnt et down to MK. I since found a crowd in Northern Ireland that are pretty good too. their web is http://www.audioadvice.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Maybe help a couple of guys in Northern Ireland if they need it!
