Advice on possible speeding fine!

Hi, so I have allegedly been caught on the A5 near Wrexham doing 74 in my transporter work van (think the limit for my vehicle on that road was 60).
The date of the offence was 28/10/15 but the prosecution letter was dated yesterday 12/11/15.
I have done some research and apparently the police have 14 days to issue an NIP and these dates would make it 15.
So either I'm extremely lucky or I'll be getting done!
Does anyone know how to go about sorting this or have any definite knowledge on the subject?
