Interesting race...

Post by wakey1512 »

Me and a work collegue were interested how our cars would fare in a race so we took to the disused aerodrome to find out. (nearly 2 miles long)

I drive a scirocco 170tdi DSG
He drives a Fiesta ST 2.0 (150bhp)

And the results were interesting..

Upon launch I struggled due to the usual DSG delay, which saw him have an advantage start but by 60mph I had made this up and nearly a car length infront.

By third gear though he was starting to pull in front :eyepop: (I thought my third gear was good!!)

And then by approx 100mph I had made the gap back up and started to pull infront again (ever so slightly) until we had to brake.

Now I was always under the impression the ST fiesta is pretty pants and underpowered for what it is. But i was seriously suprised. Either my car is running slow or his is faster than what the book figures suggest!!

Any thoughts?
