Owners Manual - is this it?

Post by rlw »

Is this fairly crappy book full of warnings actually the manual, or is there something somewhere that actually tells you what things are and how they work, and what the tyre sizes are and what the pressures are? Basic stuff but very useful that I would actually like to know, not a whole list of dont to this's.

I think the thing you have is the quick reference guide. If you don't have a paper copy of the owners manual, you can download an electronic copy from here;

OK. It seems that the pathetic book I have is it. Nothing about wheel or tyre sizes at all as far as I can see.

The Roccopedia on this site has information on wheel and Tyre sizes.

The sticker on the fuel flap has the tyre sizes and corresponding recommended pressures.

Seen those and would expect it to be there. I just think the manual is totally useless as it it doesn't tell you what things are, merely how to use them wisely. The manual for my CLK is over 400 pages long, the media/nav system manual is similar, and details what things are for, what they can do and the optional uses of those things, full spec of the car, weight, carrying weight, and so on. it doesn't assume anything, which the VW one does. I'm old, there's a lot of concepts in the car that are unfamiliar to me.
