Stage 1 Re-Map & DSG Tune

Post by LJP1991 »

Hi,

11 plate R, looking to do Stage 1 re-map and have received the below quotation:

Stage 1 (285-310BHP & 390-420Nm)
Performance Remap
Pipercross Panel Air Filter Total £445.00 Inc Vat (With Dyno)
DSG Tune £220.00 Inc Vat

Is this a decent price?
Is the DSG tune also worth doing?

Not going to use the car for track, just looking to improve daily use/make commute more interesting!

Thanks!

Welcome,

DSG tune isnt really needed for a stage 1 map. stage 2 and above you would benefit from it.
Who is the company?

Who is the map with?
I would recommend getting DSG tune. As stock dsg torque limiters will limit torque to around 350nm which you can easily get on a stage 1.

R-tech will do the Stage 1 for £300 + £150 for DSG . I would strongly recommend using them.

Thanks! Just a local company to me who are REVO approved dealer.

R-Tech are based in Leicester. Would appreciate any recommendations Any ideas in Surrey/South London?

Yer quotation from the states 390 to 420 NM torque so DSG would be worthwhile then! Thanks!

It would be well worth travelling to R-tech , certainly over Revo.

If you wanted to go with something more local then look at APR.

Not had my Rocco done at R-Tech as it was already done - but they did my MkIV 1.8T Golf brilliantly, so they're my first choice also (and where I'll be taking it to when I get bored of the 310bhp!)

Haven't mapped my R as it's leased but I personally wouldn't take it anywhere but Rtech. Well worth the drive from Surrey, even Inc time and petrol it'll still be way cheaper and you'll be getting a tailored map etc.

I agree R-Tech are the guys I'd recommend.
Even if it's a bit of a drive there you have the bonus of a decent drive home to have a play with the new map :)
