Exhaust Resonator Delete

Post by Saagar14 »

I'm thinking of getting my resonator removed today in order to increase the souns slightly on my Rocco R.

Has anyone done this and would you say it is worth it? Only cheap to do and I don't really want to change the whole system on it.

Thanks

On some cars, removing the resonator increases the drone at motorway speeds.

Mine had it done previously. Sounded much better, and not much drone at all. Recommend going for it

I've done it on my R, abit louder and louder dsg farts and no extra drone from what i can hear. I can definitely recommend this "mod". I'll never mount my resonator back again! :)

A video would be awesome! As I'm thinking about doing this too. Would kwik fit be able to do this or is it better to get a local garage to do it?

Cheers

I just bought a simons straight pipe and cut out the resonator, welded on one side and a clamp on the other so i can remove it just like stock. (I work at Volkswagen Sisjön so i did it myself ^^)

Hey.

New here, pick up my TSI GT on Thursday.

First mod is the resonator delete... how much will an exhaust place charge to do this work?

Whereabouts is the resonator and is it just cut out and replaced with a straight pipe?

I've watched this vid before and the person explains it very well and detailed, worth watching. But I don't know in how far the mk7 golf r and mk3 roc are similar underneath

Hi guys,

Also really interested in doing this but my mechanical knowledge is pretty poor...

Was just wondering where you guys have been getting the straight pipe from as I assuming it would need to be specific for the Scirocco (a bit like the one shown in the YouTube link above for the Golf)

Any advise and/or a link to where I can get the straight pipe from would be appreciated.

Liam
