Did a clean yesterday as the weather was amazing, thought I would check the fluid level and filter etc.
Opened up the air intake and found quite a bit of rubbish - leaves, sands, stones stuck at the bottom of the filter/enclosure [emoji58]
It looks like there is some damage at the top, do you guys reckon it is okay or should I replace it? If so, do you know where I can get one? I tried looking on the vw website but can't seem to find replacement foam on its own nor any recommendation on the cleaning product...
Any suggestion and recommendation on the cleaning product is appreciated!
Thought I'd put a picture of my car after the clean yesterday too [emoji12]
Or two
Many thanks!

So I went ahead and bought some itg air filter cleaning fluid and oil for my intake. I was told the VWR intake foam does not require cleaning/maintenance and it is good for 50-80k miles... But I'll let you decide when you see the condition of it...
It looks like someone tried to clean it... The outer foam looks damaged to me? Anyways, gave it a good clean and I could finally see the VR logo...
Left it dry overnight, re-oiled (definitely wear gloves and don't do it while your missus is in... I made a bit of a mess - Blue sticky oil everywhere on the kitchen worktop [emoji43][emoji379])
I was amazed how dirty it was and the amount of rubbish got trapped in the canister - definitely worth checking next time you clean your car/engine bay [emoji16]

I think I'll have to have a good look at mine after seeing how dirty yours is!

You know what, I only looked at this thread because of the photo displayed using tapatalk. I thought you had a taken a bloody potted plant out & taken a picture before I realised it was a filter [emoji23]
