Mars Curiosity rover

Looks typically over elaborate from NASA so hopefully it won't crash and burn. Be nice though if they did one of these on another planet or moon just for a change. They're always going on about how interesting some of the outer planets and the moons of saturn look. Great, shove a rover on those then. We've got 4 on Mars already.

Lift off is 3pm GMT saturday.

Nice promo vid from NASA !
Is it me or is the rocket descent module thingy just a tad like Thunderbird 2 without a body kit ? (40 to 52 seconds)
And where did it go ? Hope it doesn't just drop onto the Rover and squash it.......

Launch went OK on Saturday, now just 9 months of easy listening for the journey !!
