I’ve just bought a 2008 2.0 tsi and have been researching all the common problems with them, I know that timing chain and tensioners are common but around what sort of milage is this an issue as my car has 32,000 miles and was wondering if it’s worth changing now for peace of mind or waiting for a fair few miles then replacing it.
Cheers

Change it. I don't think you should worry to much about it now as for the mileage. But I dont know if it also wears because of time or standing still.
Some ppl said that it also might be because of the oil (pressure).
I'm currently at 85k km's and im looking into replacing it asap. (1100€ job)

After reading all the horror stories I got mine changed at 74k. I’m not sure mileage makes a huge difference, for peace of mind I’d get it changed.
