MMI Version, Cheap Bluetooth

Post by PGN »

I have a 2009 2.0TSI (Red Dash) with RCD510 head unit. I'm looking to get a cheap bluetooth adapter which plugs in to the MMI port in the armrest. I'm really only interested in being able to stream from my spotify account, not bothered about phone calls or being able to use the steering wheel buttons to control the app. Some of the adapters apparently only work with certain MMI versions (e.g. 2G) although the one I am thinking of doesn't specify :

I would like to find what MMI version is in the car.
So basically have 2 questions - how do I find the MMI version? and does anybody have any experience with this kind of BT adapter?

I just bought a 6quid one off ebay, works perfectly although I only use mine for MDI to USB then plug a USB stick to it.

for bluetooth I think you need a MDI cable to USB then get a USB bluetooth Device and do it that way
