Brake help.

Post by TDiNumpty »

Hi is there anywhere I can check exactly what brakes are on my Rocco? Without taking the wheels off? And if I have to take the wheel off where should the caliper be branded? 63 plate TDi Bluemotion. 140bhp version. Rears are gone. Fronts aren't very good. Standard ones scared the crap out of me in Milton Keynes the other year and cooked off. So need to get something better. Are solid Pagid or Brembo worth it? Or do I need to go Mtec?? Thanks for any help.

Should be a sticker in the boot with the code on it, any code decipher on the net will let you know what you need.

Thanks. Wish I knew. Took the wheels off to measure and check caliper manufacture. Just fitted some Pagid discs and pads on the rear today. Pretty easy considering I've never done it and a big saving on getting a garage to do it. Can't make my mind up on fronts now. ATE discs with ceramic pads or Mtec with yellow or green stuff pads. Don't like the brakes on the Rocco. Had complete fade last year scared the crap out of me

Yes but too late. I took the wheels off checked the calipers. Pain in the butt. But then found out the info is on the car data sticker. There will be a corresponding code. 1ZE 1ZP 1KD etc. Check online and there should be a code to match your car.

When you look online it will quote that code. They'll be that size.
