Better is to just put in a new fuse and wiring.

I would not recommend guiding the wiring through the door seal.

I guides my wiring across the roof lining and down the door seal without issue. Then tapped into the wiring in the drivers door fuse box. Easy and looks very neat. Nothing visible.
