Ticking noise

Post by Coddy »

Hi,
Notice a ticking noise on my wife's scirocco 2.0 tdi 140 2011 49k
The noise goes when you hold the clutch in.
Clutch isn't slipping the gear knob isn't shaking.
Could it be the DMF or a release bearing?

Mine had a similar issue, took it in to the dealer and they replaced the clutch kit under warranty.

For what it's worth, I recently had exactly the issue you describe on my 1971 Reliant Scimitar. It turned out to be a knackered clutch cable rattling about in the clutch fork. I know there's a big difference between 70s and modern technology, but it certainly sounds like the clutch needs investigation.

Happened to me in my 1.4tsi last month and I needed a gearbox and clutch, by the sounds of it she should only need a clutch
