CarPlay - 2014 Scirocco

My Scirocco MY2015 has the CarPlay button on the multi function steering wheel, but when I press and hold it down with the CarPlay option open on my Iphone it does nothing. Does my car have CarPlay or just the button for it?
Edit: So I think I have the RNS315 headunit, which as far as I can tell does not have Carplay. Damn dummy button on the steering wheel goading me into upgrading my head unit..
