dab & phone dongle

Post by booombastic »

HI

I have 4 year old rocco. I want to have DAB fitted and make it possible to use my phone via the radio.

Any suggestions on the best bit of kit to make this happen? IS it easy to fit yourself or do you need to have it fitted?

Anyone had his done? Rough costing?

You could get a new head unit fitted (professionally done about £500 plus a cost for the DAB Ariel)

Or on the cheap you can get a Bluetooth wireless adapter, stream your phone through there and a radio app

Hope this helps :)

Mine's 7 years old with an RNS510 - I've kept the stereo as it's decent, but got OEM bluetooth fitted in Redditch by this bloke: https://www.facebook.com/vwretrofit/

£190 fitted, can control the phone from the steering wheel etc, as it should be. Took me longer to get there than it did for him to fit it - it was done and dusted in about 40 minutes but great now the phone plays via the stereo.

Never really seen the attraction with DAB tbh, especially as an aftermarket - I don't want another aerial.
