AC compressor replacement, HOT weather! Save me!!

Post by unknown »

Hey,
Having this really hot weather I realised my AC is not working... Took it to the garage with crossed fingers for having only to refill the gas. Bad news the compressor is busted and apparently it's a common fault! Been quoted £370! It might be a fair price but I ain't got that amount of money!
So I've been looking for used parts.
Got the following part No.: of my faulty compressor: 5N0 820 803 A

I can't find the exact same but I can find loads of close numbers, i.e. ending with C or Q and some other variations but still having the 820 803 within.

Can someone please explain what do these variations mean?

Which ones could be compatible?!

Ouch.... thats a fairly hefty price to pay for something you need for 1 week a year!!

Keep eyes out on ebay for parts from scrapped sciroccos. Usually if the guys are clueless, you may save a bit of money!

So I found one that has part no 5N0 820 803 C

That C at the end... What's that for? Mine ends with A

Usually the last Letter in a VW part code is just a revision number so you should be good.

For some reason I didn't get a notification of your message.

Still didn't find one within my budget. [emoji37]

So basically I can go for ending with C or H

Thanks!
